Making EPD work easier for the Danish paint and adhesives industry
Danmarks Farve- og Limindustri (DFL) and LCA.no have entered into a new collaboration to offer a digital EPD generator to DFL’s member companies. The purpose is to provide the industry with a modern and efficient tool that makes it easier to meet increasing climate documentation requirements in Denmark and across the EU.
The collaboration comes at a time when regulations and documentation requirements are evolving rapidly. Initiatives such as the Digital Product Passport (DPP), updated eco-label criteria, and stricter requirements for sustainable construction are increasing the need for structured and company-specific environmental data. For manufacturers of paints, coatings, adhesives, sealants, and related products, this means a growing demand for reliable and standardized Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs).
Simplifying the EPD process
One of the key advantages of the EPD generator from LCA.no is that the solution is built as a structured and reusable data model. This makes it possible to produce and update EPDs more efficiently — without treating each declaration as a separate project.
The solution enables companies to:
- Structure and reuse product and environmental data
- Produce EPDs in compliance with applicable standards
- Reduce time consumption and external costs
- Establish a more permanent and internal process for environmental documentation
The goal is to give member companies greater control over their own data and a more scalable approach to EPD work.
A solution for the entire industry
The framework agreement between DFL and LCA.no makes it possible to offer flexible solutions to both small and large companies. Whether the need involves a few EPDs or a broad product portfolio, the solution is designed to be adaptable to the size and complexity of each company.
The collaboration therefore supports DFL’s work in ensuring favorable framework conditions and strengthening the industry’s position in response to new requirements from authorities and the market.
