LCA.no signs global agreement with Heidelberg Materials

LCA.no secures its largest-ever global contract with Heidelberg Materials, a world-leading producer of cement and concrete. This marks a significant milestone for LCA.no, which will now produce Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) for Heidelberg Materials across 18 European countries.

A Strategic commitment to sustainability

– This is a groundbreaking agreement for LCA.no, and the largest single global contract we have secured to date, says Trond Edvardsen, CEO of LCA.no. The collaboration demonstrates that our services and expertise in environmental documentation are in demand from the largest players in the global industry.

Cecilie Nødtvedt

LCA.no has previously delivered EPDs to Heidelberg Materials on individual projects. This new agreement expands the scope to encompass all of Heidelberg Materials’ products across 18 countries. The data generated will be instrumental in their ongoing efforts for strategic sustainability improvements.

– We are continuously striving to reduce the footprint of our products. With this solution, we can update our EPDs more quickly and efficiently — which is crucial for our customers who demand the most accurate and up-to-date environmental documentation possible, says Cecilie Nødtvedt, Head of Sustainability at HM Norway.

Digitalization as a key to success

The collaboration goes beyond simply delivering EPDs. It also represents the launch of a comprehensive digitalization process across 18 countries within Heidelberg Materials for EPD generation.

A Partnership Based on Shared Values

– Heidelberg Materials is a client that thinks like us, explains Balic. They understand that the data in an EPD can be used for far more than just meeting regulatory requirements. They see the value in using this data to improve their products and processes, thereby contributing to a more sustainable future.

The collaboration is a long-term partnership, and LCA.no looks forward to supporting the company in its ambitious sustainability goals.

The large amount of data generated through this collaboration will be  providing Heidelberg Materials with valuable insights for further improvements. This collaboration underscores both LCA.no’s market position and the importance of using data from environmental documentation for strategic improvement.
