Say hello to Anes Erik on the customer success team!

With a passion for technology and sustainability, Erik applied for a job at LCA.no and, over the past couple of years, has guided our customers through both small and large challenges in a rapidly changing market.

From digital media technology to EPDs and LCA analyses

Erik’s professional background actually spans two distinct fields. He first completed a Bachelor’s degree in Digital Media Production, before moving on to another Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems. Both were completed at the University College of Østfold. Erik points out that this combination is highly relevant to his work at LCA.no.

– We depend on high user adoption for our tools to deliver the impact our customers demand. Communication must therefore be targeted and adapted to the channels our customers prefer. This is where his digital media insight comes into play. Customer Success is a vital link between users and the development team. Insight into information systems and modern system development is also relevant.

Technology, people, and society can positively influence each other in an environmentally friendly way

 – During my studies in Halden, there were many discussions about innovative technology and how technology, people, and society influence each other. Sustainability and the circular economy became increasingly important topics, and it became clear that future solutions must focus on reducing environmental impact throughout the entire value chain.

What also appealed to me was how digitization can simplify and automate manual processes related to environmental documentation. Many companies struggle with time-consuming and complex processes for documenting environmental data. Being able to contribute to the development of digital tools that make this more accessible and efficient was something that really caught my interest. LCA.no is right on target. When I heard about the position as Customer Success Manager from an acquaintance, I immediately saw the potential to participate in an innovative field, says Erik.

From limited insight into EPDs to winning bids

– I’ve worked extensively with our Climate Calculator, LCA Project, which is used to calculate greenhouse gas emissions for small and large projects. It felt really good when one of the companies won a bid using our tool. They had started their environmental documentation journey with very little insight into what they needed to map and deliver. After training and meetings, where we helped them map each step of the project, it was very exciting when they won the bid. This shows how quickly and how far companies with limited knowledge can come if they have the right partner, says Erik as an example of how LCA.no helps customers with LCA analyses and generating EPDs.

Customer challenges contribute to innovation

– To remain a market-leading software company, it’s crucial for LCA.no to stay ahead of customer demands. We often receive questions from our customers related to updates in EPD development. Challenges are also raised that give us input for future product features or new products we develop. We also monitor the digital channels working with environmental documentation, and we closely follow the work of environmental organizations, international organizations, and industry associations. I’m also fortunate to have colleagues on the LCA team who enjoy discussing these topics, and that helps me stay updated, says Erik enthusiastically.

Tip for our customers: Use the support pages!

Finally, we asked for a tip for customers wanting to get the most out of our EPD solutions. Erik’s tip is to use the LCA.no support site and all the resources available there; there are several instructional videos and guides on both the subject and the EPD Generator, which many find very useful.

Be honest and accurate with what you put into the EPDs. Accuracy will always pay off in the long run, and it often becomes much more work when you have to correct things afterwards instead of being accurate from the beginning, concludes Erik with a smile.
