LCA.no Academy had the pleasure of hosting a webinar tailored to the asphalt, gravel, crushed rock and stone industries.
The focus? Helping businesses understand how to efficiently meet mandatory requirements for environmental product declarations (EPDs) – and use them as a strategic advantage in public tenders.
With us in the webinar were Inger Johanne Brodal Dahl and Trond Risberg from LCA.no. Inger Johanne provided a comprehensive introduction to EPDs, covering key concepts like system boundaries, product category rules (PCR), and the growing importance of credible lifecycle data. She also outlined the regulatory drivers, from tender requirements and CSRD, to the upcoming Construction Products Regulation and Digital Product Passport.
Trond Risberg followed with a live demonstration of the LCA.no EPD Generator – showing how users can create and publish verified EPDs step-by-step using their own production data. He walked through real examples for both asphalt and aggregates, and explained how companies can scale documentation by verifying input data instead of each individual declaration. This results in major time and cost savings, while ensuring compliance with third-party verification requirements.
The webinar also included live questions from participants, such as how to handle cradle-to-cradle scenarios, project-specific EPDs, and how the tool integrates with internal systems.
