Can you tell us a bit about your background?
I recently completed my master’s degree in renewable energy at NMBU in 2022. Throughout my studies, I gained valuable interdisciplinary expertise in analyzing, planning, and implementing sustainable energy projects. My focus during my master’s degree was on conducting life cycle analyses, with a special emphasis on waste and resource utilization. For my master’s thesis, I delved into the fascinating topic of source sorting behavior. Currently, I have been working as an LCA consultant at LCA.no for over a year, utilizing my expertise to make a positive impact in the field.
What are your responsibilities at LCA.no?
Your primary responsibility is to configure the EPD generator with data, enabling customers to effortlessly create their own EPDs. Our goal is to empower customers to be self-sufficient and reduce their reliance on suppliers. By doing so, we believe our customers will embrace the software and achieve a remarkable level of user adoption.
What does a typical workweek look like for you?
In general, my workweek revolves around key responsibilities such as developing data sets, gathering information for data sets, conducting internal data checks, communicating with clients through emails and meetings, and configuring data for EPD generators. There is a certain degree of variability from week to week as I collaborate with different clients, and the complexity and scope of the core tasks may vary as well.
What constitutes the ideal approach to environmental documentation?
In a nutshell: From my perspective, it involves employing a standardized, life cycle-oriented environmental documentation that prioritizes transparency, relies on accurate data, and allows for meaningful comparisons.
What sets apart the businesses that have made the greatest strides in environmental documentation and the utilization of cutting-edge tools for this purpose?
These dedicated businesses fully leverage the system, not only for the creation of EPDs, but also for optimizing their products and production processes. They possess a deep understanding of their raw materials and production, which facilitates the acquisition of more precise data. Furthermore, they establish APIs or other solutions that simplify the creation of EPDs.
How do you keep up to date up-to-date with the latest industry trends and developments?
The discussion around climate and the environment has become a top priority for both public administration and private businesses. Technology is advancing at a rapid pace, and our role is to develop software for environmental documentation and consultancy. To stay ahead of the game, I find a wealth of inspiration on LinkedIn. The platform offers a plethora of valuable resources such as articles, research reports, webinars, conferences, courses, and case studies. It’s a treasure trove of information! Additionally, I find immense value in meetings and conversations with industry experts, as they provide valuable insights and knowledge.
If you were given an additional hour each day, how would you make the most of this precious gift?
During those demanding work periods, it’s essential to prioritize rejuvenating sleep and rest. However, on other occasions, why not indulge in something exciting and invigorating? This extra hour can be a source of renewed energy and inspiration.

Lastly, when you’re not focused on assisting our customers in their environmental endeavors, how do you spend your time?
Personally, I consider myself fortunate to have a furry companion who requires regular walks, providing ample opportunities for me to enjoy the outdoors. Thankfully, my roommate also joins in on these adventures.
